| PROFESSIONAL INVALIDITY INSURANCE FOR PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMEN AND WOMEN, PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, DOCTORS ETC.. |

Freedom from physical incapacity is of essential importance for professions such as, for example, professional sportsmen and women, professional musicians or doctors. “Normal” accident or health insurance does not meet these requirements. For example, if a footballer has an irreparably damaged knee as a result of an injury, he is no longer able to exercise his profession as a footballer and therefore suffers 100% invalidity. Normal accident insurance policies will, however, only recognise this invalidity to a limited extent. Even temporary professional incapacity can result in a major loss of income – sponsorship money will not be paid, the market value of the player will fall, success bonuses are lost etc.. Even a surgeon will likewise no longer be able to exercise his profession in the event of losing a thumb, and will be dependent on a corresponding insurance policy.
