PROFESSIONAL INVALIDITY INSURANCE FOR PROFESSIONAL SPORTSMEN AND WOMEN, PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, DOCTORS ETC.. PDF Print

Freedom from physical incapacity is of essential importance for professions such as, for example, professional sportsmen and women, professional musicians or doctors. “Normal” accident or health insurance does not meet these requirements. For example, if a footballer has an irreparably damaged knee as a result of an injury, he is no longer able to exercise his profession as a footballer and therefore suffers 100% invalidity. Normal accident insurance policies will, however, only recognise this invalidity to a limited extent. Even temporary professional incapacity can result in a major loss of income – sponsorship money will not be paid, the market value of the player will fall, success bonuses are lost etc.. Even a surgeon will likewise no longer be able to exercise his profession in the event of losing a thumb, and will be dependent on a corresponding insurance policy.

We insure temporary or permanent professional incapacity as a result of an accident or an illness, which renders the exercise of the insured activity impossible. Thanks to individually adapted conditions, we are able to take account of the requirements and risks of different professions. We insure in particular:

  • Professional sportsmen and women such as footballers, ice hockey players, cyclists, tennis players, golf players etc.
  • Professional musicians such as pianists, violinists, cellists, singers (insurance of the voice) etc.
  • Doctors (surgeons)

Insurance cover is possible for entire teams or for individual persons with an annual income of at least CHF 150,000.-.
